Business Development Manager
The Chief Growth Officer of a dynamic, private equity backed special education service provider has asked HireneXus to help them find a Business Development Manager (BDM) for the state of Pennsylvania. The BDM is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities throughout the state, primarily with state agencies and school districts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the local sales strategy to meet or exceed sales goals and objectives. Establish sales targets, and creating a plan to achieve them.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, and work closely with them to identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and prepare sales reports to present to CGO.
- Collaborate with other departments, in particular Operations, Finance and Human Resources, to ensure alignment and support of overall business objectives.
- Participating in the development of local strategies and operational plans. Ensuring the company is positioned to identify and respond to potential new business and revenue growth opportunities within the state.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and market developments, and adjust the sales strategy accordingly.
- Develop and maintain expert level knowledge of corporate capabilities within your region.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in special needs administration or selling into the education marketplace.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue growth targets, and developing successful territory sales strategies.
- Experience implementing sales plans and strategies related to education services RFPs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and team members.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and develop insights to inform sales strategy.
- Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with the ability to understand and manage sales budgets and forecasting.
- Must reside within the state of Pennsylvania
- Travel required, up to 50%
Overall, the BDM plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and requires a combination of territory leadership, critical-thinking, sales strategy execution, activity/information tracking, and relationship-building skills to succeed.
