Location: Based in the Tri-Cities area of Northeast TN / Southwest VA, within reach of Johnson City, Kingsport, and Abingdon.
Salary: $130K base + bonus incentive + $15K sign-on + relocation assistance
Facility Type: Long-Term Acute Care Hospital ()
Bed Count: 35 beds
Reports: 2 House Supervisors (1 day / 1 night)
Team Size: ~60 FTEs
We’re working with a long-term acute care facility in the Bristol market that is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer to lead their clinical team. This is an ideal opportunity for a Nurse Manager (ICU or MedSurg) or a Director-level nurse ready to step into a hospital-wide leadership role.
Position Highlights:

Focused on providing extended care to complex, high-acuity patients
Preferred Experience:
-
Proven leadership in managing or supervising inpatient units in acute or post-acute settings such as ICU, Med-Surg, or step-down
-
Previous experience in small hospitals or specialty care environments is highly desirable

Skilled in building and sustaining multidisciplinary teams across nursing, therapy, and ancillary services
-
Comfortable working in a patient-centered, outcomes-driven culture focused on continuous improvement
-
Experience supporting regulatory readiness efforts (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) is a plus
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Minimum of 3 years in a hospital-based nursing leadership role
-
Active RN license or ability to obtain licensure in Tennessee

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
-
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
