Director Health Information Management (HIM)

Location: Coastal Maine where you will find picturesque harbors dotted with fishing boats, colorful blueberry barrens, and quintessential New England towns

About the role of Director Health Information Management (HIM):

• Responsible for two smaller hospitals
• Manages health information department functions which includes responsibility for the maintenance, care, completeness and security of patient medical records, coding and transcription.
• Writes and reviews policies to maintain compliance with regulatory rules and guidelines.
• Develops departmental services through ongoing planning which is consistent with the organization’s mission, vision and values.
• Other duties, as assigned, that are relevant to the position and department

Requirements for Director Health Information Management (HIM)

• RHIT certification is required (Registered Heath information Administrator)
• Master’s, Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Expertise in health information management, best practices and procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology, classification systems and vocabularies.
• Two years minimum Hospital HIM Management experience
