Director of Human Resources
We are working with a private equity backed, multi-site, manufacturing company seeking a Director of Human Resources. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Human Resources will be a strategic thought-partner to the CEO, CFO and the Leadership Team around organizational design, integration of acquisitions, long-term talent planning, and talent management. This person will manage HR functions across multiple plant locations in the United States and Mexico.
Essential Job Functions:

Talent Acquisition & Management
- Lead HR teams in recruitment, staff development, and retention efforts across multiple locations.
- Maintain updated job descriptions for all positions in a centralized system.
- Oversee pre-employment processes, including background checks, job offers, and salary negotiations.
- Manage the performance review process, providing guidance to supervisors and managers to ensure annual evaluations are completed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Collaborate with the CFO, CEO, and Corporate Controller to develop competitive and cost-effective employee benefit programs.
- Design and manage a comprehensive compensation plan, including overseeing promotions, bonuses, and working closely with payroll teams.
Policy & Compliance
- Stay informed about federal, state, and local labor law changes to ensure company compliance and update policies as needed.
- Develop, implement, and interpret HR policies, ensuring employee relations issues are handled in alignment with company values and legal requirements.
- Administer the Workers’ Compensation Program and manage personnel records in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Work with Operations to conduct monthly safety meetings and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
Training & Employee Engagement
- Oversee the HR budget for employee engagement and training initiatives.
- Propose and implement new training programs for employees, managers, and leadership teams.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, engagement) to provide data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and manage employee engagement and recognition programs, including referral bonuses and safety awards.
- Assist management in developing and tracking meaningful employee development plans.
Qualifications:
- Languages: Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently is essential.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in a senior HR role, ideally with multi-site management experience.
- Experience with Mexican labor laws, particularly in a Maquiladora setting.
- Demonstrated success in strategic HR leadership and employee engagement.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of building trust at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to design and implement HR strategies across multiple locations.
- Experience with HRIS systems, including integration with payroll platforms.
- Analytical skills for interpreting HR data, reporting, and metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and achieve results.
- Certifications: SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is preferred.
