This position is with a leading multi-specialty physician group, recognized for its commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care. As one of the fastest-growing healthcare networks in the U.S., the organization is seeking a strategic and operational leader to oversee its laboratory services. With 35+ laboratory sites, a team of 170+ professionals, and an annual volume of 3+ million tests, this role is critical to maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the operations of 35+ laboratory sites, ensuring high-quality testing services, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Manage and develop a team of 170+ employees, including laboratory managers and supervisors, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Drive financial performance, including P&L oversight, cost management, and operational budgeting to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Implement strategic initiatives focused on innovation, automation, and standardization to improve accuracy, turnaround times, and overall service quality.
- Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and CMS regulations while maintaining best-in-class laboratory practices.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align laboratory operations with growth strategies and service expansion initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement new testing methodologies, laboratory instrumentation, and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) to drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with physicians, pathologists, and clinical teams to ensure laboratory services evolve to meet patient care needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field (Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business preferred).
- Proven leadership experience in multi-site laboratory operations, with a track record of driving strategic growth and operational efficiency.
- Strong financial acumen, including expertise in P&L management, cost control, and revenue cycle optimization.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, including CAP, CLIA, and OSHA requirements.
- Expertise in laboratory automation, data analytics, and process optimization.
- Exceptional leadership and change management skills, with the ability to scale operations and implement innovative solutions.
- Experience in launching new laboratory sites and expanding services is highly desirable.
