A fast-scaling, private equity-backed platform is seeking a Director of Mergers and Acquisitions to help drive its M&A execution and strategic expansion efforts. This individual will play a central role in managing the company’s growing acquisition pipeline, supporting transaction execution, and contributing to long-term network growth across a multi-state footprint.
The Director of Mergers and Acquisitions will play a key role in driving all aspects of transaction execution, from financial modeling to due diligence to post-close integration. This position will work closely with executive leadership and third-party advisors to ensure alignment between M&A activity and the company’s long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the CEO and CFO to drive execution of the company’s M&A strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.

Use a disciplined, analytical framework to evaluate acquisition targets and strategic partnerships.

Conduct thorough market, industry, and competitive analysis in coordination with cross-functional teams to inform strategic planning.

Develop detailed business cases and valuation models for potential transactions, integrating financial, operational, and strategic considerations.

Lead end-to-end due diligence across all key business areas (finance, legal, operations, HR, etc.), coordinating internal stakeholders and external advisors.

Identify potential synergy opportunities and create actionable integration plans to capture value post-acquisition.

Support deal structuring and negotiation efforts in partnership with the CEO and CFO, including preparing materials for executive and Board-level approval.

Manage relationships with key external partners, including legal counsel, investment banks, tax advisors, and consulting firms.

Oversee integration planning and execution, with a strong focus on the critical first 90 days following deal closure.

Assess strategic fit, financial impact, and operational risks for each transaction, delivering clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership.

Prepare high-quality presentations and materials for the Board of Directors, Investment Committee, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or similar M&A-focused roles.

Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and developing compelling investment cases.

Proven track record of managing complex due diligence processes and executing M&A transactions from inception to integration.

Hands-on experience with post-merger integration and delivering on synergy realization plans.

Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills; adept at working with large, complex financial and operational datasets.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing and delivering presentations to senior executives and Boards.

Highly organized and detail-oriented; capable of managing multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
