Job Description
Job Title: Director of Project Management (includes Major Projects, Programs, & Sourcing)
Location: Chicagoland, Oak Brook corporate office preferred (2 days per week)
Travel: up to 50% and as needed
Position Summary
The Director of Project Management leads large-scale projects, ensuring operational efficiency, financial discipline, and superior customer satisfaction. This role oversees capital projects, complex programs, and strategic sourcing initiatives while aligning project execution with business objectives. The position requires strong construction industry experience, stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Execution
- Oversee major projects from planning through completion, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Develop and implement project strategies, allocate resources, and mitigate risks.
- Manage multiple high-complexity projects simultaneously, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost control.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining quality standards.
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Mentor and oversee project managers, fostering a high-performance and results-driven culture.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and key customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Align project execution with organizational objectives and cross-functional teams.
Financial & Risk Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, optimizing costs while maintaining financial performance.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee strategic sourcing and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in project management, construction, or operations leadership.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, high-complexity projects while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience in sourcing, vendor management, and subcontractor coordination.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget planning, forecasting, and cost control.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
