Electrical Engineer
Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with Repair Technicians to troubleshoot and repair systems, recommend design improvements, and build/test prototypes. They will create electrical schematics, PC board layouts, and develop test plans for hardware and software verification. The role involves supporting manufacturing with process control, creating assembly procedures, and overseeing the transfer of PC boards to Contract Manufacturers. Additionally, they will diagnose complex electrical issues and maintain manuals, test procedures, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced knowledge of electronic and software design, with a focus on compliance with IEC 60601 and IEC 60601-2 standards.
- Conduct comprehensive system-level verification and validation testing, and produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Repair Technicians to troubleshoot and repair systems effectively, and suggest design enhancements to improve product quality, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Design, build, and test prototypes for new product development, and diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.
- Create and maintain detailed manuals, test procedures, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Develop and design PC board layouts and electrical schematics, perform hardware/software verification and validation testing, and implement process control techniques for manufacturing.
- Develop assembly procedures, work instructions, and provide training and oversight for assembly implementation.
- Oversee the transfer of PC boards to Contract Manufacturers, addressing any arising issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO-13485, MDD, CSA requirements, and systems engineering principles.
- Expertise in analog/digital electronics design, debugging, and support for microprocessor-based, FPGA/CPLD, and DSP hardware platforms.
- Proficiency in schematic diagram development tools (ORCAD/PADS), PC board layout tools (ORCAD/PADS), and simulation tools (SPICE).
- Experience with EMC and ESD board layout concepts, precision low-current measurement, and low-noise analog electronics.
- Familiarity with software testing protocols and safety/EMC standards.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and technical writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Skilled in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and processor emulators/debuggers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while proactively suggesting process or product improvements.
