The Electrical Engineer II will provide Electrical Engineering expertise and support Operation Group products and production processes. Lead continuous improvement of product quality, reliability, performance and automation.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Develop electrical systems in accordance with business needs
- Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods
- Develops manufacturing processes for building and assembling electrical systems
- Testing and analyzing electrical systems
- Evaluate problems and recommend solutions
- Evaluate electrical systems to make sure they meet safety standards
- Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics
- Write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria
- Ability to provide cost and time estimates for projects
- Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
- Organize and prioritize work for across multiple areas
- Maintains product database by writing computer programs; entering data
- Provide guidance among engineers and co-ops
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Mentor technicians in order to achieve a finished product
- Identify opportunities and lead projects
- Lead and coordinate work with customers, suppliers, or outside contractors
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree preferred and 5 or more years of experience in an electrical engineering role or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with 3D solid modeling skills, Pro/E preferred
- Ability to read bill of materials
- Firmware experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask and problem solve.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Oracle preferred. PLM Agile preferred.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Ability to prepare Test Protocols and Test Reports.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to read engineering documents.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Awareness of Lean principles and concepts.
- Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations.
- Ability to mentor and share knowledge.

- Ability to lead and manage projects and/or project teams.
- Ability to work with vague requirements and limited direct supervision

- Knowledgeable of the fundamental theory and the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Ability to apply principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of medical devices and services.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Familiarity with statistical process analysis

- Can work without guidance and supervision
