Field Service Technician
Experience: 5+ years in wastewater, textile, or industrial machinery service.
Education: High school diploma or Associates Degree. 5 plus years of experience in a
customer service technical position conducting field service.
Travel: 70% travel required. Domestically and Internationally.
Job Description:
Service Technician is responsible for supervising installation and start – up of new equipment in the field, adjustment of equipment, providing training for end users and troubleshooting of equipment.
Job Duties:
- Travel to site and supervise and/or inspect installation of equipment.
- Start-up of equipment and making mechanical adjustments.
- Provide training to operators with handouts in classroom and hands on at machines.
- Optimize Electrical Control panel settings to suit plant (site).
- PLC troubleshooting.
- Mechanical and Electrical panel troubleshooting or repairs as necessary.
- Prepare and update various reports for management utilizing multiple software packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
- Provide customer phone support as needed.
- Technician will support manufacturing during times not performing field operations
General Requirements: Successful candidate will have a strong technical background in industrial machinery service. Municipal and/or industrial wastewater treatment equipment and/or Textile equipment experience is a plus. Be able to read and interpret technical specifications, mechanical, and electrical drawings. Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, including Allen Bradley, Siemens and GE. Have the ability to perform all physical demands of the job and to travel with short lead times. Work in conditions of climate, heat and/or cold, during scheduled start up or warranty work in the field. Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient with various software packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and Solid Works.
