Job Summary:

The Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides structured discipline to guide and direct business analysis, business rules, processes and capabilities implementation for the technology stack employed by our client in delivering value to its people, customers and suppliers. This role provides the necessary insights and direction to deliver to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, Oracle NetSuite, as well as related systems implementation teams, of which the SME is an integral component, the expected value to HTS’s people, customers and suppliers. The SME will integrate their work effort with all implementation teams as well as support the post-implementation of any process and technology solutions. SME is expected to work alongside any third-party contractors and consultants and provide the enterprise’s view in developing needs assessments and business requirements as well as potential solution configurations. The SME role is expected to be a full-time position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Subject Knowledge
   1. Deep functional knowledge of the [specific business area] and the normal business standards and practices of the subject area
   2. Provide the specific functional area with advice and direction on enabling enterprise business rules in the chosen technology stack, which may include providing guidance and suggestions on needed modifications
   3. Provide guidance and support to the [specific business functional area] process improvement efforts prior to and after initial implementation, including industry best practice and chosen technology best practices for implementation. Must have experience evaluating process efficiencies, mapping multiple options and ability to work cross functionally to determine optimal process to execute.
   4. Change management support for the [specific business area] concerning the ERP and other technology solutions
2. Project Engagement
   1. Team member of the ERP Implementation Team, providing configuration and other support to advance the implementation and support of the chosen platform(s)
   2. Ensure that [ specific business area] requirements are met, while allowing for integration with all other affected business areas
   3. Ensure data integrity throughout the implementation
   4. Provide guidance and potential solutions for business and Program/Project risks to the [specific business area] and the Program/Project Management
   5. Ensure appropriate security efforts including privacy, data integrity, segregation of duties for the [ specific business area]
   6. Advocate for use of standard software solutions over any customizations
   7. Provide guidance to Program and Project Management on change management needs of the [specific business area]
   8. Represent the [specific business area] on the ERP Implementation Team, and the Team to the [specific business area]
   9. Provide guidance and framework for required end user training materials and delivery of training, where warranted
3. Ongoing efforts
   1. Support the day-to-day operations of released functionality and the overall health of the ERP platform
   2. Support stakeholders as needed with appropriate documentation and insights as well as end user support (2^nd line)
   3. Stay up to date with new features and functions offered for the [specific business area] in the ERP and related chosen technology platforms
   4. Provide insights into new or enhanced features and functions that may benefit the business
   5. Ensure continuous health of any feature and functions of the [specific business area] align harmoniously with other software solutions integrations as well as the ERP technology
   6. Provide ongoing end user training concepts and materials as the ERP solution is matured across the enterprise
   7. Validate data and functionality integrity of the features and functions of the specific business area during/after any ERP system upgrades, patches and other maintenance

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in the [specific business area], Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. A master’s degree and professional certifications are a plus but not required.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in the [specific business area] as a practitioner
• 3+ years of experience with ERP systems implementation and upgrade projects, preferably with specific Oracle NetSuite, Dayforce HRIS, and Microsoft Power BI experience a plus.
• Strong team leadership and team dynamics
• Proven ability to work across functional teams and interact with senior leadership.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of ERP platforms and modules (financials, HR, supply chain, etc.).
• Strong capability in people-oriented change management of technology implementations
• Familiarity with database management, system integrations, and data migration processes.
• Familiarity with system administration, configuration, and user management.
• Leadership and Communication:
• Strong project activity and task management skills with experience using predictive and/or adaptive methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address system issues and user concerns.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Certifications:
• Certifications related to specific ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) are highly desirable.

Job Title: Finance Functional Process Lead
Location: Murfreesboro, TN (Preferred: Nashville, Southeast, East Coast, or Texas)

We are working with a private equity-owned, high-growth organization with $400M in revenue and ambitious plans to double in size over the next three years. The company has acquired multiple organizations in the past couple of years and aims to continue acquisitions as part of the growth strategy. The company is implementing Oracle NetSuite ERP across its operations, with a project kickoff scheduled for early next year. This is a long-term opportunity to work on transformative initiatives and remain with the organization post-implementation.

Role Summary:
The Finance Functional Process Lead will play a pivotal role in the Oracle NetSuite ERP implementation, focusing on accounting and financial processes. Reporting to the Director of ERP, this role will partner closely with finance teams to define, standardize, and optimize processes related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and reporting. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with a strong finance background, Oracle NetSuite experience, and a passion for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Finance Process Expertise:
• Oversee the design and implementation of ERP processes for accounting and finance operations, including AP, AR, month-end close, and general ledger management.
• Ensure proper journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting workflows are in place.
• ERP Implementation:
• Act as the finance subject matter expert for Oracle NetSuite ERP implementation.
• Collaborate with the ERP integration partner and internal project team to ensure the system aligns with financial and operational goals.
• Standardization & Optimization:
• Define and standardize financial processes to improve efficiency and scalability across multiple business units.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
• Training & Support:
• Train finance teams on Oracle NetSuite functionalities and ensure adoption of new processes.
• Provide ongoing support during the implementation and post-go-live phases.
• Collaboration:
• Work with cross-functional teams, including operations and sales, to ensure seamless integration of financial data into broader organizational processes.
• Long-Term Growth:
• Support the organization’s continued growth and acquisitions by building scalable financial processes and systems.
• Help establish a robust ERP support team for long-term sustainability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of finance or accounting experience, including hands-on work with AP/AR, month-end close, and journal entries.
• Oracle NetSuite experience (minimum of 2 years).
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and financial workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Experience standardizing and optimizing financial processes across multiple entities.
• Willingness to travel as needed during the initial project phase (estimated 4–6 weeks total).

Preferred Skills:

• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions and integrating financial processes/systems.
• Familiarity with field service operations and related financial workflows.
• Previous involvement in large-scale ERP projects.
