Manager of Corporate Development – Healthcare

This position is with one of the largest multi-specialty physician groups in the country, based in Chicagoland, and one of the fastest-growing healthcare networks in the US. Known for its innovative approach and commitment to providing top-tier patient care, this organization is expanding its strategic footprint through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to enhance growth and operational excellence.

Summary

The Manager of Corp Dev/M&A will report to the Vice President of Corporate Development and be a partner to the M&A process, driving growth through strategic acquisitions. This individual will assist in managing a robust pipeline of acquisition targets, lead due diligence and deal execution, and ensure seamless post-acquisition integration. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong financial acumen, and excels at building relationships with key stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of a strong pipeline of acquisition targets, focusing on strategic growth opportunities.
  • Establish and foster relationships with brokers, business owners, and industry partners to identify and evaluate high-value acquisition prospects.
  • Partner with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to ensure a seamless transition from target identification to deal execution.
  • Assist in all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, financial modeling, and transaction structuring.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to oversee financial, legal, operational, and regulatory diligence processes.
  • Prepare and present deal approval materials, including financial assessments and strategic fit analyses, for senior leadership and board review.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of M&A experience in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity.
  • Demonstrated success in executing multiple transactions.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence processes.

Entrepreneurial Mindset:

  • Results-oriented, proactive, and capable of driving deals forward in a fast-paced environment.

Communication & Negotiation:

  • Excellent ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with business owners, brokers, and internal stakeholders.

Organizational Strength:

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Team Collaboration:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
