SUMMARY
This position is with a private equity-backed residential and commercial field services platform. The Manager of M&A will report to the VP of M&A and be responsible for supporting various aspects of the company’s acquisition efforts, contributing to the full lifecycle of mergers and acquisitions with a focus on deal execution with a main focus on due diligence deal making and process flow.
Geography
This company is based in lower New York with a service reach throughout the Northeastern United States. The ideal candidate will be located in the northeast but can work permanently remote with a heavy travel load.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager of M&A will support the VP of M&A and the company’s corporate development efforts by:
- Assisting in analyzing addressable markets and collaborating with business unit leaders and specialists to update strategies.
- Actively identifying and sourcing acquisition targets, fostering relationships with brokers, business owners and building a pipeline aligned with the company’s objectives.
- Presenting the company’s vision and value to potential acquisition targets, cultivating strong relationships with business owners.
- Developing business cases and valuation models for potential transactions.
- Identifying and quantifying synergy opportunities with potential acquisitions and creating action plans to drive value post-close.
- Leading M&A transactions through the LOI to due diligence process, ensuring alignment with integration plans and business objectives.
- Gathering and translating key information on risks and opportunities into actionable insights for valuation and deal structure decisions.
- Regularly interacting with third-party advisors (legal, financial, tax, consultants) throughout the M&A process.
- Supporting deal structure and negotiation efforts alongside senior leadership and the Board.
- Participating in post-acquisition integration initiatives to ensure seamless transitions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 3-6 years of results-oriented deal making experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, consulting or private equity.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with experience in synthesizing complex data into presentations for decision-making.
