Manufacturing Engineer
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will develop and maintain systems that support continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of cost, quality, safety, lead time, and working capital efficiency. This role plays a key part in driving operational excellence across our manufacturing and assembly facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
To succeed in this role, the individual must be able to effectively perform the following duties:
- Evaluate tools, equipment, and processes to identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities
- Lead manufacturing process improvement projects across departments
- Provide technical support for production operations, including tooling, fixturing, and process troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve safety and ergonomic concerns
- Plan, lead, and support Lean manufacturing events across multiple facilities
- Guide and support 5S implementation and maintenance efforts
- Assist with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) programs
- Collaborate with other functional areas to support shared goals
- Analyze production costs and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce expenses
- Assist in verifying and implementing torque specifications and managing high-risk part specifications
- Support work cell load balancing for efficient manufacturing workflows
- Participate in the Product Development Process (PDP) by evaluating tooling and equipment requirements for new projects
- Assist with plant layout planning and modifications
- Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
- Strong attention to detail and process orientation
- Proficient in data tracking and analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to document and improve processes through systems and workflow enhancements
- Solid understanding of manufacturing principles and best practices
- Ability to manage projects outside core responsibilities
- Self-motivated and accountable for meeting defined performance metrics (KPIs)
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for handling tools or materials
- Frequent talking and hearing required
- Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, and occasionally work at heights (up to 11 feet)
- May be exposed to vibration and varying work environments
- Regularly lift or move up to 15 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Vision requirements include close, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
