Manufacturing Engineering Manager
The Manufacturing Engineer Manager is responsible for process improvement and equipment selection/implementation. This position will have responsibility to lead implementation of new products and processes, lead cost reduction efforts and support key safety and quality initiatives. This position primarily interfaces with Factory Operations and Design Engineering in support of the Company’s efforts as a World-Class Manufacturer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage capital budget and all projects associated. Submit and implement capital projects with proper justification.
- Lead efforts on building additions and modifications.
- Lead efforts on new equipment selection.
- Lead facility and assembly-line layout changes.
- Responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts to improve productivity, reduce waste, and reduce materials cost.
- Drive improvement of machine utilization and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement product design changes to reduce cost and improve quality.
- Manage, identify and implement process improvement and material saving projects.
- Maintain costs within budget and lead cost reduction efforts within area.
- Process standardization, process improvement and overall continuous improvement.
- Develop clear plans for cost reduction efforts to ensure product profitability.
- Manage adherence to safety regulations.
- Evaluate key products to determine actual manufactured cost.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical).
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills and team player attitude
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing-based engineering role.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication facility.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing equipment development and implementation role.
- Experience with leading building construction/expansion projects.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, accompanied by a sense of urgency.
- Comfortable in a team environment where company success is paramount.
- Ability to achieve desired results by motivating the team to meet goals.
- Trained and experienced in Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong initiative and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Thrive in a work environment where accountability and innovative thinking are highly valued.
- Proven ability to drive profitability in a product line through design changes and process improvement.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytic skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD technical drawing software or equivalent.
