Plant Manager
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for directing, managing, and optimizing overall operations and financial performance (P&L) of the truck business unit in alignment with established policies and procedures. This role requires strong leadership in operations management, staff development, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities

Direct all manufacturing operations to meet production goals, ensuring a skilled, engaged, and high-performing workforce.

Develop and implement operational strategies and standardized procedures to drive productivity, product quality, and cost efficiency.

Monitor and evaluate key performance metrics, using data to guide decisions and align operational performance with financial targets.

Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on operational excellence, quality, and efficiency through Lean methodologies and 6S practices.

Maintain strict adherence to plant safety and environmental standards by conducting regular inspections, audits, and training to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.

Oversee cross-functional teams including production, logistics, warehousing, and operations, fostering collaboration and accountability.

Champion process improvement tools and initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, SOP development, and tiger team projects to solve operational challenges.

Provide strategic direction and leadership across teams to ensure cohesive operations and long-term business success.

Partner with department leaders to streamline the entire order-to-shipment lifecycle.

Manage post-delivery processes including warranty service and repair operations.

Support evolving business needs by performing additional duties as assigned.
Leadership & Team Management

Lead and develop subordinate managers and their teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, performance expectations, and company values.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Certification in Lean Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing (Green Belt or Black Belt) is required.

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with a track record of delivering results.

Strong understanding of cross-functional dependencies within manufacturing environments.

Expertise in core manufacturing processes such as fabrication, welding, painting, and automotive assembly.

Experience working with robotic or automated manufacturing systems is a plus.
