Senior Accountant
We are partnering with a Private Equity backed multi-site facilities services organization looking to add a Senior Accountant to the team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with deep expertise in GAAP, general ledger management, and month-end close optimization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll accounting, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, property tax filings, and financial audits, and will help enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency across multiple business units.
Work environment: Hybrid 3 days a week in Irving, TX.
Primary Responsibilities

Manage and reconcile complex payroll journal entries—including PTO, bonuses, benefits, stock compensation, commissions, and tax liabilities—across 12 business units.

Partner with external payroll providers to improve data accuracy, streamline reporting, and increase visibility into accruals.

Maintain debt roll-forward schedules and ensure timely and accurate recording of principal and interest payments.

Prepare and reconcile interest expense entries, and support compliance with debt covenants and lender reporting requirements.

Ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements related to franchise fees and EPA manifests, coordinating with third-party vendors for on-time property tax filings across 60+ locations.

Lead balance sheet reconciliations and enhance the month-end close process using automation and optimization tools.

Support external audits by providing documentation and insights to ensure full compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

Drive improvements in financial reporting processes through automation, standardization, and system enhancements.

Provide accounting support across multiple locations and perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Skills & Core Competencies

Strong command of U.S. GAAP and ability to clearly explain complex accounting issues.

Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, AI-assisted matching) and hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software.

Excellent organizational skills with sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience supporting field operations and working in distributed, multi-location environments.

Familiarity with close optimization tools and modern financial reporting best practices.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 7 years of general ledger accounting experience in a complex, multi-entity organization.

Demonstrated success working with third-party vendors for payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting improvements.

Preferred: Experience with ERP integrations and accounting process automation.
