Job Description

Senior Accountant
We are partnering with a Private Equity backed manufacturing company adding a Senior Accountant to the team.

Candidates will have the opportunity to work 100% remote but would need to be located in the DFW area.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee the maintenance of all financial ledgers, ensuring accuracy by reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing necessary journal entries.
Prepare monthly financial reports and facilitate the month-end closing process.
Address and resolve any discrepancies in prices with Accounts Payable and Purchasing departments.
Conduct regular reviews of price variances.
Manage monthly inventory entries and reconciliations.
Supervise the closing inventory procedures, including executing actual cost settlements and reviewing production and price variances for discrepancies.
Analyze labor and labor overhead, calculating and recording efficiency adjustments.
Provide in-person oversight of annual inventory procedures.
Track, report, and record company leases in compliance with ASC 842, using LeaseQuery software.
Update foreign exchange rates monthly within the SAP system.
Coordinate with the IT Department to administer the ERP system (SAP).
Review and prepare reports for governmental entities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as required.
Compile audit work papers and schedules for various audits, including financial, governmental, quality, and internal audits.
Offer guidance and support to Staff Accountants, including reviewing and approving journal entries and reconciliations.

Additional Responsibilities:

Serve as a backup for other team members, including managing fixed assets, conducting daily and monthly cash reconciliations, and processing concur/company travel transactions.

Required Skills:

Proficient in General Ledger and Cost Accounting principles.
Familiarity with accounting software; experience with SAP, Floqast, Concur, LeaseQuery, Power BI, and Adaptive is advantageous.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Solid understanding of IT systems and the ability to adapt to new software platforms.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
CPA certification preferred.
3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.

Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly financial reports, including coordinating month end close.
Identify and resolve price discrepancies with AP and Purchasing as needed.
Review price variances on a weekly basis.
Monthly inventory entries and reconciliations.
Closing inventory processes; run actual cost settlements, reclass materials issued to appropriate accounts, review production and price variances for discrepancies.
Analyze Labor and Labor Overhead; calculate and record efficiency adjustments.
Annual Inventory oversight in person.
Track, report and record company leases in accordance with ASC 842 using LeaseQuery.
Update foreign exchange rates monthly in SAP.
Maintain, and coordinate with the IT Department the administration of ERP (SAP)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLES:

Backup to other members of the team – fixed assets, daily and monthly cash reconciliations, concur/company travel transactions

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge and experience in General Ledger and Cost Accounting.
Comfortable with accounting software, plus if experience in SAP, Floqast, Concur, LeaseQuery, Power BI, and Adaptive.
Good organizational skills, including the ability to keep track of and meet deadlines.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Solid IT knowledge, including the ability to learn new computer programs.
Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work cross departmentally as needed.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Four year degree in Accounting.
CPA a plus.
3-5 years experience in a relevant accounting position.
