We’re thrilled to share a great opportunity to join a top roofing and contracting company in Baltimore, MD! They serve both commercial and residential clients and are on the lookout for an energetic Service Manager to join their team.
Summary
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of 8+ crews, ensuring the efficient delivery of roofing services while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with the service estimator and service coordinator, the Service Manager ensures projects are scheduled, executed, and completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with company goals.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills
• Proven experience in a similar role within the roofing or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of roofing materials, systems, and service processes.
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Excellent project management and scheduling skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities and Duties
Project Execution & Scheduling
• Review incoming service contracts and generate work orders for service crews.
• Draft and manage daily and weekly service schedules, ensuring efficient crew utilization and minimizing overtime.
• Participate in operations scheduling and project review meetings to align resources appropriately.
• Oversee the release and confirmation of material orders, coordinating closely with the operations team.
• Ensure the service coordinator has updated project timelines to keep clients informed of progress.
Crew Management & Coordination
• Ensure all service crews are equipped with proper documentation, tools, and materials prior to job departure.
• Conduct regular reviews of service tickets and crew performance to ensure job quality and adherence to project timelines.
• Monitor crew billable hours, ensuring compliance with overtime policies.
Project Management
• Independently manage service projects, ensuring accurate documentation, budgeting, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, including OSHA standards (OSHA 30 training required).
• Monitor crews to ensure compliance with safety guidelines, promptly addressing any issues.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment across all job sites.
Customer Relations
• Collaborate with the service coordinator to maintain clear communication with clients, providing updates on project progress and any potential changes.
• Address client concerns professionally and promptly to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Training & Development
• Provide leadership and support to service crews, fostering a team-oriented and results-driven culture.
