Position Summary:
Our client is a Los Angeles-based leading provider of comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions, specializing in international freight forwarding, air and ocean transport, and customized shipping services. They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Strategic Sales Associate specializing in Air Exports to join their team. This role focuses on identifying and building relationships with clients, developing customized air freight solutions, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the air freight industry, excellent communication skills, a passion for delivering value to customers, and a hunter’s mindset.
This will be an outside sales position with the opportunity to own your territory in the Los Angeles market.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Relationship Building

Identify and target potential clients in the air export market to drive new business opportunities.

Establish and nurture strong, long-term client relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.

Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and recommending customized air export solutions.
Sales Strategy & Execution

Partner with sales leadership to develop and execute strategies that achieve or exceed revenue goals.

Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the air export sector.

Utilize data-driven insights to focus on high-impact sales activities.
Solution Design & Proposal Development

Collaborate with operations and pricing teams to create competitive and efficient air export solutions.

Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, using analytics to emphasize value-added services.

Negotiate contracts and terms with clients, ensuring alignment with company policies and profitability objectives.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Track and evaluate key sales metrics, including revenue generation, client acquisition, and retention rates.

Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress using CRM tools.

Provide regular updates, reports, and forecasts to the sales manager and leadership team.
Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2-4 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably within the air freight, logistics, or transportation sectors.
Skills & Competencies

In-depth understanding of air export operations, pricing structures, and market trends.

Proven track record of generating leads, closing deals, and fostering lasting client relationships.

Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.

Self-driven, goal-oriented, and strategic in approach.
Technical Proficiency

Proficient in using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot to manage client interactions and sales pipelines.

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant business software.
