Title: Vice President of Corporate Development and M&A

This is with a private equity-backed business in the fluid and flow control solutions space, providing highly engineered fluid handling and processing solutions across multiple industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and industrial applications. Operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment, the business has completed five acquisitions and has more than doubled its revenue since the original platform investment.

Position:
The VP of Corporate Development will lead key aspects of the company’s acquisition and investment strategy, working closely with senior leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in M&A within industrial manufacturing, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience in flow control, fluid management, or related sectors. Prior experience in Private Equity and Investment Banking is not required.

This role requires an individual who is comfortable navigating complex acquisition processes, including market analysis, due diligence, valuation modeling, and deal structuring. The VP of Corporate Development will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory and ensuring the smooth integration of acquired businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

M&A Strategy & Execution

• Develop and execute a disciplined, objective, and structured approach to identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of potential acquisition targets within sanitary flow control end markets.
• Source opportunities through proprietary relationships, industry conferences, investment banks, private equity firms, and other intermediaries.
• Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and risk assessments to support deal structuring and strategic decision-making.
• Lead cross-functional due diligence efforts, coordinating finance, operations, legal, and external advisors.
• Serve as the primary liaison with target companies, guiding sellers—especially founder-led businesses—through the transaction process.
• Negotiate purchase agreements, deal structures, and key terms in collaboration with executive leadership and legal counsel.

Strategic Partnerships & Market Intelligence

• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to refine M&A priorities and long-term investment strategy.
• Monitor emerging economic and industry trends, providing recommendations on strategic growth opportunities.
• Partner with senior executives, finance teams, and private equity sponsors to ensure alignment on investment priorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 6-8+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, or private equity.
• Industry experience in flow control, fluid handling, industrial equipment, or related sectors preferred.
• Proven ability to source, evaluate, and execute M&A transactions, including pipeline development.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex deal processes from evaluation to close.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring expertise.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience working with founder-led businesses and unsophisticated sellers.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, private equity-backed environment.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities.

• Identify, assess, and prioritize potential acquisition targets within the sanitary flow control end markets, including food, beverage, and pharma. Other areas such as semiconductor, A&D, and semiconductor would be lower priority targets.
• Origination can stem from proprietary relationships, conferences, interactions with investment bankers, private equity firms, and other intermediaries.
• Conduct financial modeling, valuation analyses, and risk assessments to support deal structuring.
• Manage cross-functional diligence activities, coordinating efforts between finance, operations, legal, and external advisors.
• Act as the primary point of contact with target companies, guiding sellers—especially unsophisticated or founder-led businesses—through the transaction process.
• Negotiate purchase agreements, terms, and deal structures, working closely with internal leadership and external legal counsel.

Strategic Partnership & Market Intelligence

• Provide market research and competitive analysis to inform the company’s M&A focus and long-term growth strategy.
• Identify emerging economic and industry trends impacting the business and proactively recommend strategic initiatives.
• Partner with senior executives, financial teams, and private equity sponsors to drive alignment on investment priorities.

Qualifications:

• 6-8+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, or private equity, with a preference for candidates with industry experience in flow control, fluid handling, industrial equipment, or related sectors.
• Strong history of origination and building out a pipeline of attractive M&A targets both in core focus areas and by defining new areas for expansion.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex deal processes from initial evaluation to closing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successfully engaging with founder-led businesses and unsophisticated sellers.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth, private equity-backed environment.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously.
