Vice President, Finance
This position sits within a highly acquisitive field services organization looking to add a VP Finance to support the corporate initiatives, lead consolidation across the 15+ entities. The company will continue to grow via buy and build strategy acquiring 5-6 companies a year.
The position is a hands-on role responsible for the accounting and finance affairs of the overall organization and its affiliates. This person will serve as a key member of the senior finance team providing guidance on, developing, and implementing strategic business plans, as well as opining on the potential financial impact on the business. The VP is responsible for the Company’s financial policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position is the function leader of the accounting function and involves supervision over general accounting, internal auditing, and budgetary controls. He/she will serve as a key strategic advisor on both existing and potential new business issues, ranging from operations enhancements to business development opportunities and M&A activities.

The VP Finance will be a hands-on leader capable of mentoring the accounting and finance team to enhance existing processes and internal controls within the organization.
Candidates will have the opportunity to work remote with travel to greater Nashville area.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with the CFO to provide strategic guidance and support for the company’s financial operations.

Present financial results and insights to the executive leadership team, private equity sponsors/Board of Directors, and lender groups.

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team to achieve outstanding financial performance.

Optimize the finance team’s structure and capabilities to deliver superior financial support.

Drive business performance by tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with company objectives.

Develop and implement standardized financial modeling methodologies.

Identify and execute process improvements to enhance team efficiency, reducing reliance on manual tasks.

Oversee the ERP implementation of NetSuite across various brands and newly acquired businesses.

Maintain the company’s accounting systems, including entity consolidation and intercompany accounting as necessary.

Direct accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable, to optimize working capital.

Support preparation and record-keeping for state and federal tax compliance across all company entities.

Provide detailed financial analysis to influence both operational and commercial business decisions.

Partner with the CFO to evaluate the financial implications of acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

Manage all aspects of treasury functions, including cash flow management and banking relationships.

Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals to ensure efficient and timely audits and address payroll and sales/use tax matters.

Contribute to strategic tax planning and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial and accounting roles, ideally within private equity-backed organizations.

Background in service-based industries preferred; experience in construction management or field service environments is a plus.

Big 4 public accounting experience is highly desirable.

Expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, tax, treasury, KPI development, risk management, working capital management, and banking relations.

Strong ability to interpret financial statements, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.

Proven leadership in setting and achieving team goals, developing financial talent, and fostering high-performance teams.
