Vice President of Information Technology
I am working with a multi-site / multi-state industrial services and construction company that is currently looking for a tactical yet strategic hands-on IT leader to help them through their growth process. This person will assist in hiring and building out an IT team, work with vendors, and consultants as they expand.
Position Summary
The VP of IT will be responsible for crafting and executing the IT strategy to support the company’s growth objectives. This strategic leader must possess hands-on experience in implementing and managing enterprise systems such as Salesforce CRM, HRIS software, and a light ERP system. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading IT initiatives within a rapidly growing organization, ideally within a private equity-backed environment.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the IT department, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Build and lead a high-performing IT team, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff.
System Implementation & Integration:
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and integration of Salesforce CRM, HRIS software, and a new ERP system.
- Ensure seamless integration of acquired companies’ IT systems and processes into the [Company Name] IT infrastructure.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure the best value for the company.
IT Operations & Infrastructure:
- Establish and maintain robust IT infrastructure to support business operations and future growth.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data security, system reliability, and compliance.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including helpdesk support, network management, and cybersecurity.
Project Management:
- Lead IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver technology solutions that drive efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
Data Management & Analytics:
- Develop and implement data management strategies to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility.
- Leverage data analytics to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions and performance improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a senior IT leader, preferably as a VP of IT or CIO, in a growing organization.
- Strong background in implementing and managing enterprise systems, including Salesforce CRM, HRIS software, and ERP systems.
- Experience in leading IT initiatives in a private equity-backed environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and compliance standards.
- Ability to think strategically while being hands-on to address immediate IT needs.
