Vice President of Integrations & Strategic Initiatives
Vice President of M&A Integrations
A private equity-backed field services organization is seeking a Vice President of M&A Integrations to lead enterprise-wide integration efforts across a fast-scaling portfolio. The company is experiencing significant growth through acquisition and is focused on building a scalable, unified platform that delivers long-term value.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for translating M&A strategy into operational execution—working across all major functions and with executive leadership teams on both sides of the transaction.
Summary
The Vice President of M&A Integrations will serve as the primary architect and driver of integration strategy for newly acquired businesses. This individual will lead cross-functional teams, engage directly with acquired company leadership, and ensure integration efforts are tightly aligned with the organization’s growth objectives.
The ideal candidate is a strategic operator with deep consulting experience—a “business athlete” who thrives in complex, dynamic environments and can drive outcomes across a broad range of functions, including Finance, HR, IT, and Operations. This is not a narrow project management role; it is an enterprise-wide leadership position suited for someone who can balance strategic vision with executional precision.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and lead comprehensive pre- and post-close integration strategies, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and the rationale behind each acquisition.
-
Orchestrate cross-functional integration efforts across internal teams—including Finance, HR, IT, Operations—and acquired company leaders to ensure successful execution.
-
Collaborate closely with deal teams and senior leadership during due diligence to evaluate integration risks, synergies, and organizational impact.
-
Define and manage key performance indicators, timelines, and milestones to track integration progress and drive accountability, flagging issues as they arise.
-
Implement and manage governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and communication plans to support transparency and alignment across stakeholders.
-
Foster strong relationships with acquired company leadership to enable cultural alignment, trust-building, and effective change management.
-
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment by making timely decisions and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
-
Travel as necessary to support on-site integration efforts, relationship-building, and execution oversight.
Candidate Profile
-
Minimum of 8 years of experience leading complex M&A integrations across multiple functions and business units.
-
Strong consulting background, preferably with experience at a top-tier management consulting firm.
-
Demonstrated success in driving large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within matrixed and fast-growing organizations.
-
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
-
High level of business acumen, combined with comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
-
Experience in field service-based industries is a plus, but not required.
-
Willing and able to travel to integration sites and support in-person stakeholder engagement as needed.
