Position Overview:
The Vice President of Strategic Corporate Development will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing acqui-hiring opportunities to enhance the firm’s capabilities and market position. This individual will develop and execute strategies to source and integrate specialized consulting teams, niche advisory firms, and key talent pools. The ideal candidate will have a background in staffing, business services, financial advisory, or related industries and a strong track record in executing talent-driven acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Acqui-Hiring Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a structured approach to identifying, engaging, and acquiring high-value consulting teams and boutique firms.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, target firms, and strategic partners to create a strong acquisition pipeline.
- Lead negotiations and deal structuring to secure talent-driven acquisitions that align with the firm’s strategic growth priorities.
- Conduct due diligence, collaborating cross-functionally with finance, legal, and operations teams to assess and execute acquisitions.
- Partner with executive leadership to ensure cultural alignment and strategic integration of acquired teams.
Market Research & Target Identification
- Conduct industry research to identify emerging trends, competitor moves, and talent acquisition opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential team and boutique firm acquisitions through direct outreach, industry networking, and market intelligence.
- Assess acquisition targets based on financial performance, service offerings, and long-term strategic value to the business.
Integration & Talent Optimization
- Develop and execute post-acquisition integration plans to optimize talent retention, align operational structures, and maximize business impact.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for newly acquired professionals.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of talent acquisitions and their contributions to growth.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A, staffing, business services, or financial advisory.
- Proven track record in executing talent-driven acquisitions and acqui-hiring strategies.
- Strong expertise in deal origination, financial modeling, valuation, and negotiation.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, particularly with founder-led businesses and niche advisory firms.
- Experience leading due diligence and integration processes within a professional services environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, private equity-backed business with an aggressive growth strategy.
- Strong financial acumen and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and M&A analytics tools.
