Description:
A dynamic healthcare organization is seeking a Vice President, Risk Adjustment to lead and optimize its risk adjustment programs within the value-based care space. Reporting to the Chief Value Based Care Officer, this role oversees end-to-end operations, including strategy development, compliance, and program integration, to drive improved patient outcomes and operational success. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a deep understanding of risk adjustment, coding, and healthcare analytics, coupled with exceptional project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and execution of risk adjustment programs to enhance accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee full lifecycle activities, including annual wellness visits, medical coding, and clinical documentation improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and analytics teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and data-driven decision-making processes.
- Manage projects and programs, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate and execute value-based care initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor a team of 10–15 professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or master’s degree in a related field strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in risk adjustment, value-based care, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in developing and managing risk adjustment programs, regulatory compliance, and healthcare analytics.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of effective collaboration across diverse teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong project management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Certification in CRC (Certified Risk Coder) with 3+ years of experience preferred; combinations of CPC, CCS-P, and CRC certifications also acceptable.
