Vice President of Strategic Initiatives
This position is with a PE backed, site based, healthcare adjacent organization and is responsible for the group’s development and execution of strategic and operational initiatives. The role requires a high degree of independence, initiative, judgment, and follow-through on a wide range of sensitive and complex issues and will report to the CEO.
Geography:
This person can be located anywhere on the eastern half of the country and is permanent remote with some travel.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage multiple projects, ensuring fast-paced execution to meet business objectives.
• Provide steady leadership in a rapidly growing environment, managing uncertainty, change, and tight deadlines due to the company’s expansion through acquisitions.
• Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of acquisitions, defining key elements such as timelines, milestones, budgets, resource allocation, and success metrics.
• Facilitate day-to-day project coordination, steering committee meetings, and ensure clear communication of roles and responsibilities to key functional leaders.
• Monitor project progress using dashboards to track health, risks, and performance.
• Drive the escalation and resolution of critical issues that could impact project timelines, including go-live dates.
• Support the company’s acquisition strategy by managing diligence workstreams and ensuring proper execution.
Qualifications:
• 5-7 years of experience in various aspects of project/program management.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
• MBA or master’s degree preferred.
• Proven ability to build and lead diverse, cross-functional teams across multiple locations, including internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in developing workplans, project scopes, pricing estimates, and presentations to support project planning and execution.
• Ability to promote innovative ideas, embrace calculated risks, and lead transformative change.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve business goals with minimal supervision.
• Strong decision-making abilities, with the capacity to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and financial management skills.
• Effective consultative and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the proven ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
