Pricing Manager

We are working with a specialty coatings, adhesives, and sealants for the construction and industrial end markets organization. Formed in late 2015, our client has quickly grown to become the 10th largest specialty coatings, adhesives, and sealants company in North America having started from $55MM in sales in March of 2015 to nearly $300MM in sales today through organic initiatives and acquisitions. This group is a diversified, niche market leader across its business groups and brands and is committed to helping customers win through innovation, training, and service, while maintaining a market-leading position through market leading R&D.


Based in Andover, MA and reporting to the VP of Pricing, the CFO, and the CEO, along with providing support to the Division Presidents and Finance teams, the Pricing Manager and FP&A Analyst will play a key role as an analytical thinker and driver of analysis to support senior leadership team. In this role, s/he will be responsible for directing and supporting key aspects of the Company’s reporting, planning, forecasting and financial analysis activities across all operations, with a specific focus of support on pricing and revenue management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the company’s pricing function with an emphasis on data driven analysis, decision making, and tracking. This includes:

  • Assisting in the development of pricing strategies that balance customer price & value perceptions, competitive dynamics, market conditions, profitability and overall business strategy
  • Supporting the delivery of critical pricing and profitability programs
  • Facilitating the development and execution of pricing programs and related offerings (rebates, freight, etc.)
  • Assessing ongoing performance of pricing strategies and programs

Execute the company’s financial planning and reporting function with an emphasis on performance improvement, providing quality management information, and the development of systems, processes, and metrics. This includes:

  • Providing management, the board and private equity firm with support on detailed, bottom-up budgets and forecasts to anticipate short- and long-term business outcomes.
  • Working directly with the various business leaders to educate and support them in developing and their strategic plans and budgets.
  • Developing, implementing and reporting the key financial and operational data/metrics in dashboards and forecasts.

Perform the company’s financial analysis function with an emphasis on performance improvement and providing relevant and timely external analysis. This includes:

  • Analyzing cash flow, cost control and expenses, as well as collaborating with the various business heads to suggest and implement improvements.
  • Research and investigate financial variance issues and assist business leaders in taking appropriate corrective actions.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A strong track record of reporting and financial analysis, with at least [5] years of total progressive experience in a similar function, preferably in a high growth, private equity organizations.
  • Experience in building financial planning, analysis and reporting models and processes to facilitate company growth.
  • Experience and ability to model and synthesize complex financial analysis, operational, and KPI data into concise presentations and decision framework, on a regular basis.
  • Pricing/revenue management experience including knowledge and experience using pricing models & analytics to drive strategic decisions
  • Experience conducting and directing analysis on large data sets (>1 million rows of data)
  • Understanding of go to market business models
  • Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional setting (e.g., across IT, finance, sales, warehouse/operations) to ensure relevant, actionable pricing strategy guidance delivered to sales team
  • Excellent professional written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with extreme attention to detail, accuracy and accountability balanced with sound business judgment.
  • Trusted liaison to, and relationships with, senior management and board members.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and databases.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Live or relocate to Boston/Andover, MA area.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • MBA
  • Investment Banking, Analytical Consulting or PE experience.
