Project Management - Integration Management

This position is with a multi-site, regional, private equity backed, service organization based out of the northwest Chicago suburbs

Position Responsibilities

Execute and Develop Strategic and Operational Initiatives

  • Management and execution strategic process/operational initiatives as developed in conjunction senior team (e.g., pricing, cost savings, cross-selling initiatives, new service lines, etc.)
  • Heavy responsibility for leading an acquisition through the integration process and working with the seller on due diligence
  • Responsible for managing and execution strategic process/operational initiatives as developed in conjunction senior team. This can include:
    • Assessing the potential of a process or profit improvement idea
    • Building consensus and gaining leadership approval for implementation
    • Designing an approach for implementation including problem solving with cross-functional partners on operational solutions
    • Defining the project scope, milestones, budget, resource plan, and success metrics
    • Facilitating day-to-day coordination among team members and ensuring the project team stays on track to completion
    • Monitoring project health through the effective use of project dashboard
    • Keeping stakeholders engaged and informed of progress and potential risks
    • Driving escalation and resolution of critical project related issues
  • Driving outcomes cross-functionally to build consensus and execute to meet deadlines and targeted results
  • Create, prioritize, and execute key strategic initiatives with senior team and board input; quantify and track results, communicating updates to senior team and board as appropriate
    • Supports management in idea generation and vetting. Relentlessly searches for opportunities to drive efficiency and productivity across the company
    • Maintain and prioritize pipeline of ideas to enable the group to grow into a national, scale company through organic growth and acquisition
    • Works with functional leaders to assess and prioritize ideas and ensure clear timing and ownership is established for all projects pursued

Lead Onboarding of acquired business units

  • Develop turnkey integration playbook and implement and execute
    • Timelines, checklists, and processes across functional groups (operations, sales, IT, marketing, etc.)
  • Onboard new acquisitions and implement best practices
    • Identify opportunities and gaps at each acquired business unit in terms of people, processes, systems, profitability, working capital and develop plans to address
    • Create and execute plan to have acquisitions integrated into current processes, reporting structures
    • Process documentation and standardization across all operations
  • Address current integration needs across legacy acquisitions
    • Work with CAO, CFO and COO to establish operational and financial reporting and processes and procedures for companies not yet integrated into the system – weekly and monthly dashboards
    • Consistent dialogue with local operators to address issues real time and prior to month end closing
    • Gross margin, warehouse and shipping expenses, pricing improvement, etc.
  • Key member of the integration team alongside CFO, CIO, and CAO
    • Create acquisition onboarding playbook and provide updates to senior team / board on tracking/progress of initiatives
    • Accelerate integration of legacy acquisitions; create integration team and hire resources as needed

  • 3-5 years with operational consulting firm focused project management
  • Corporate experience of successfully leading projects across many stakeholders and prior integration lead experience
