Accountant/Bookkeeper

 

REPORTS TO: CEO

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

 

My client is a premiere global brand consultancy that provides comprehensive business solutions in the areas of brand extensions, brand creation, and brand acquisitions to some of the world’s most recognized brands. Their mission is to help clients unlock the full potential of their brands to enhance value while generating substantial revenue.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starter who has a strong inclination/appreciation for the fields of finance and accounting. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of professionalism to the position. There will a focus on book keeping using QuickBooks of company AP and AR and analyzing external sales reports we collect and entering this information into our database, Dependable Solutions.

Minimum 2 years in public accounting and/or royalty accounting strongly preferred.

 

Core responsibilities include:

 

Handle all accounting needs for the company

 

  • Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain monthly and quarterly financial information from all relevant sources
  • Handle all accounting needs for the company
  • Identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts relating to financial data we collect by breaking down information or data into spreadsheets and also entering information into company database
  • Analyze financial information to assist in the production of company and client forecasts for use in making budgeting decisions
  • Assemble late notices, generate reports indicating status of overdue financials, monitor and assist in the maintenance of company’s Accounts Payable process.
  • Provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person 

Job Requirements include:

 

  1. College degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  2. Two to three years of work experience (at a minimum) strongly preferred
  3. Exceptional understanding of:
  • Economics and Accounting -- Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices plus the analysis and reporting of financial data.

  • Computers and Electronics -- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications, and the ability to perform database entry and assist in maintaining system integrity. Strong Excel skills are a must

  • English Language -- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Active Learner -- Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
