M&A Specialist

 

Assist the Director of Business Development in managing and/or performing all activities related to the identification, negotiations, due diligence, execution, and integration of acquisition opportunities.

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

 

  • Identify potential acquisition targets through a variety of means including interfacing with operational personnel, conducting database searches, attending conferences and working with external parties
  • Perform basic research on potential acquisition targets
  • Engage in discussions with potential acquisition targets in coordination with the Director of Business Development
  • Actively manage the pipeline of acquisition opportunities and provide regular process updates
  • Work with business units and external advisors and consultants to evaluate and conduct complex financial and risk analyses of acquisition opportunities
  • Manage and/or assist all aspects of the acquisition process including due diligence, negotiation of terms, deal structuring, and documentation
  • Responsible for all 3rd party due diligence providers including outside legal counsel, financial QoE advisors, benefits analysis, tax advisors, and insurance brokers.
  • Tracking acquisition post close including earnouts and actual financial performance with respect to projections
  • Help facilitate the integration of the acquisitions, including in many cases, transitions of senior leadership
  • Ability to travel to acquisition targets or other company locations, 25% of the time. 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • 3-7 years of M&A experience in a corporate development role (or an equivalent level of experience at an investment bank and/or private equity firm) with preference for involvement in acquisitions of small to medium-sized companies
  • Strong M&A execution skills
  • Strong analytical and verbal skills
  • Results-oriented and proactive
  • Confidence and Credibility: must be able to quickly gain trust with internal and external constituents, particularly senior leadership, equity partners, business owners and deal sources.
