Vice President of Safety and Training
I am working with a PE owned transportation organization in the NE that is seeking a VP of Safety. This company has seen tremendous growth of 20+% year-over-year and continues to expand.
As Vice President of Safety and Training, you will be responsible for direction, coordination and administration of all safety and training related matters affecting our employees. Due to the sensitivity and importance of safety, this position has reporting responsibility to the Chief Operating Officer. This position also includes compliance with state and federal rules and regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.) as they pertain to our employees.
Besides the duties to develop and implement a comprehensive safety and training program, the position requires a dynamic leader with a personality and work demeanor that can create and foster a “safety first and always!” culture within the company. The position requires a personality that can work independently and has a vision to promote and communicate the safety mission.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience overseeing a Safety and Risk Management Program.

Work Environment: This is primarily an office and classroom-based position; however, this position will require time spent in vans out on the road. It is a professional environment involving constant interaction with drivers, monitors, transportation coordinators, management, and other employees. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, reach, or crouch. This role requires sitting in front of a computer, as well as standing/walking while training indoors and outdoors. This position must be able to tolerate heat and cold temperatures outside, and be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (for example lift/maneuver car seats, classroom furniture, etc.) You must be able to travel to other bases/locations as required.
