Vice President of Human Resources

I am working with a large distribution group that is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Leader with deep knowledge of all matters concerning Human Resources. This highly visible position plays an integral role in the ongoing success of the organization and reports into the CEO.

Job Description:

  • Serves as a key contributor, alongside business leadership, in operational planning and strategy development.
  • Create, expand and manage a human resources team capable of executing human resources strategies, ensuring that HR Services operate and remain aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional management (Commercial Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Logistic, Accounting, Finance, IT, etc.) Recognizing the mutuality of business unit plans and functions, foreseeing issues, and working collaboratively to resolve ongoing issues.
  • Deliver strong leadership and analyses of HR KPIs/Metrics for successful planning, reporting, and decision making.
  • Evaluate organizational capabilities and recognize skill disparities. Actively partnering with business leadership and human resource team members to source, evaluate, select and on-board top-talent.
  • Spearhead corporate and field hiring, development, and retention while confirming talent pipelines.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and management to establish employee training and development programs through local, government, and educational institutions.
  • Create and deliver presentations to corporate officers, and leadership team members regarding human resources initiatives, project statuses, policies and best practices.
  • Design and implement job evaluations and annual performance review programs, collaborating with management to create development and individual coaching plans.
  • Work with the Benefits & Compensation Manager to evaluate and benchmark compensation programs to establish and ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Advise and coach managers on resolving ongoing employee issues, while personally managing complicated employee relations issues, including investigations and resolutions.
  • Direct, advise and communicate appropriate implementation of HR policies, practices and initiatives at the corporate and local levels.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance including but not limited to equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, wage and hour, and work authorization, maintaining knowledge of pending and new legislation.
  • Organize and interpret employee statistical data for government reporting purposes.
  • Partner with business leadership to build and drive a company and employee culture of engagement and high-performance.
  • Lead RFP process, selection, and contracts with outside suppliers to ensure market competitive employee benefit programs in addition to other employment related services, such as temporary employees, search firms, relocation services, etc.
  • Develop and closely manages the human resources budget.

Qualifications to Meet Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or an applicable field of study required.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience, within Human Resources, in fast-paced manufacturing or B2B environments required.
  • Measurable experience working with executive teams to lead organizational growth and values.
  • Proven leadership experience with thorough knowledge of HR principles and best practices.
  • Advanced in organizational compliance, with diligent and firm decision making, maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Inspired to build and maintain an atmosphere of employee engagement and organization excellence.
  • Possesses a compelling strategic approach, and the ability to drive measurable success while balancing purposeful implementation.
  • Experienced within managing multi-state and multi-local jurisdictional legal and employment standards.
  • Proven experience collaborating effectively and influencing individuals and teams, not only internally, but also across a variety of external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in the recruitment, training and development of top talent from the field up to executive leadership.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, ADP, other HRIS systems, a plus.
