Production Supervisor (Assembly)

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Assembly department performs specific part assembly task on different platforms. The Assembly Supervisor will perform specific tasks to deliver on S, Q, D, C expectations. The Assembly Supervisor will provide the leadership and technical skills to ensure the safe and effective operation assembly dept.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all assigned assembly department operations
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Interacts with warehouse personnel to resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Interacts with QC & Finishing to resolve quality issues
  • Develop a team spirit as you oversee and direct the activities of hand assembly personnel
  • Assist employees with their processes and troubleshoot as required.
  • Provide leadership and technical skills to ensure the safe and effective operation of the Dept. under your supervision
  • Advocate for the organization and maintain compliance by supporting established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Take a proactive approach to ensure continuous improvement in Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Identify and implement necessary personnel coaching and development to upgrade and maintain personnel skill levels.
  • Encourage staff’s professional development and address personnel issues through diplomacy, sensitivity and intercultural awareness.
  • Accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and motivating employees.
  • Ensure effective employee relations; create an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment; establish effective communication lines/methods; identify and respond to employee problems and grievances; deal with interpersonal conflict.
  • Provide training and performance management of employees.
  • Initiate disciplinary action as needed consistent with company practices
  • Approve PTO and overtime; complete or review and approve electronic time sheets.
  • Drive accountability for quality and productivity.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
  • 2 to 5 years of assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience

Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
