Job Description

Manager/Director of Marketing

We are working with a global supplier of non-lethal protection equipment that is used with both civilian and government organizations. In the U.S., the company has a B2C, B2B, and B2G operation. We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable marketing manager/director to lead the marketing strategy, analysis, campaign execution, and staff management for our US division.

We want a driven individual with extensive experience in developing a marketing strategy, building a department, as well as working with outside consultants and agencies. Part analyst, part strategist, part manager, the ideal candidate will create and implement strategies, tactics, campaigns, and brand messaging for both offline and online marketing channels. They will provide leadership to our established and talented marketing team with a healthy mix of skill, management experience and initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the marketing process from research and planning all the way through execution and analysis
  • Develop an annual strategic marketing calendar that meets the overall objectives of the business
  • Provide strategic leadership for both offline and online marketing – optimizing sales and building effective teams around our three most important revenue drivers: print, eCommerce, and live events
  • Provide strong, effective, and highly visible leadership to the in-house marketing team, ensuring that all resources are motivated and guided to contribute fully to company vision and goals
  • Manage agency providers, consultants, freelancers, and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management
  • Maintain and grow our brand equity in the industry through managing the distinct voice and position of each brand within our portfolio
  • Conduct customer, brand and product research initiatives and provide analysis and action plans to transform learnings into growth
  • Develop product branding and merchandising plans that support sales goals and optimize both offline and online sales performance
  • Oversee the operation of and analytics for US B2B / B2C / B2G digital sales channels, and all digital marketing including email, social, and advertising
  • Manage costs in accordance to the Sales and Marketing budget
  • Support cross-functional team leaders and ensure alignment of priorities across sales and marketing peers

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in marketing, e-commerce or related field
  • 7-10 years of brand marketing experience with at least 5 years of leadership experience managing direct reports
  • A combination of B2B / B2C / B2G experience preferred
  • Effective leadership, time management and organizational skills to motivate and direct a dynamic and creative team
  • Strong digital marketing, project management and analytical skills
  • Experience with any of these platforms a plus: Salesforce, Mailchimp, Big Commerce
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing both offline and online marketing functions
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Experience setting up and managing a budget
  • Should be able to develop effectual relationships and operate with senior executives
  • Should be able to contribute to planning and strategic thinking
  • Exceptional written as well as verbal communication skills
  • High level of personal enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • Travel as required
  • Experience with safety or military equipment would be good
