Plant Cost Accountant

The Job Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible to create, maintain, review and audit various financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
  • Reconcile assigned accounts
  • Develop yearly D/L, O/H rates for the plant and participate on the STD scrap and manufacturing changes yearly.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process.
  • Audit the monthly/quarterly inventory counting and support the year end audit with external auditors.
  • Analyze variances and conduct monthly financial reviews with management.
  • Assist with quarterly reforecast and annual planning
  • Support plant locations as needed.
  • Assist in creation and administration of company policies & procedures to ensure adequate internal control and safeguarding of company assets.
  • Travel required; Up to 10% at certain times of the year depending on business need-it may fluctuate
  • Other accounting duties as assigned.
  • Actively supports and manages within company’s mission, vision, code of conduct and process based leadership guidelines.
  • Actively supports our 5S + Safety programs.

The right fit for this position will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Engineering with 2 to 3 years’ experience
  • Proficient with MS Office products
  • Cost Accounting Experience – BOMs, BOOs, setting standard costs, variance analysis
  • Business Partner to Plant Operations - Experience working in a manufacturing environment or see ability to be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (some level of manufacturing process aptitude)
  • Capacity to learn and apply knowledge for the common good of the business - Inquisitive
  • Self-confident & self-motivate – Comfortable accepting responsibility and taking appropriate level of risk - operate with tenacity and persistence to deliver impact
  • Proactive and organized

  • Experience with an ERP system

Familiarity with the following will be nice to have for this Position:

  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX (Axapta) a plus
