Job Description


Provide technical support for best use of our industrial X-ray and CT equipment to sales staff, field service engineers, other application engineers, customers, and potential customers in the Americas.


• Train users of all backgrounds in the use of X-ray CT, both in Brighton, MI and at customers’ facilities.
• Demonstrate range of X-ray equipment by scanning customer samples and producing world-class results.
• Test new control software and report issues, and to suggest improvements.
• Produce clear concise training material.
• Establish procedure and guide for factory and site acceptance testing.
• Discuss customers’ applications and decide the best configuration of X-ray system to supply and to assist Sales staff with preparing quotations.
• Use C# software to develop custom user interfaces for complex automated tasks.
• Explain X-ray/CT techniques at conferences and in technical journals.
• Participate in committees, boards and other work groups for the advancement of CT techniques and standards.
• Maintain knowledge of the latest X-ray and CT scanning techniques, national and international standards and suggest how they may be used with equipment. Assist in manning trade shows.

• Assist in distributing pertinent technical information to all sales personnel.
• Demonstration equipment and demonstration center(s) upkeep.
• Recommend design improvements to enhance product performance and ease-of-use.
• Log/track customer communications in CRM.
• Log/track demonstrations and projects.
• Test/Log bugs in new software versions.


• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in physics or a physics-related subject.
• 10+ years’ experience in a comparable role.
• Effective customer communication skills.
• Knowledge of physics and mathematics.
• Knowledge of X-ray interactions, statistics of image acquisition at low photon counts, 3D volume reconstruction from projection images to produce guidelines on how to inspect a sample based on its geometry and chemical make-up.

• Previous industrial X-ray / CT experience.
• Previous use of VGStudio MAX analysis software.
• Ability to present X-Ray / CT materials at both introductory training and at scientific conference levels.


• Ability to observe, monitor, collect and record data.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to review data and identify trends and draw conclusions.
• Knowledge of business writing.
• Ability to communicate effectively as an individual and within a team.
• Ability to review written content for grammatical and spelling errors.
• Basic understanding of graphic design principles.
• Knowledge of event planning strategies and tactics.
• Basic knowledge of the development, management and execution of a successful marketing campaign.


50% domestic and international travel required.
Occasional weekend and evening work, as needed (20%).
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
