Senior Financial Analyst, Operations

This is a newly created position to help guide the operational and strategic direction of the company including budget, forecast, and KPI development. The Senior Financial Analyst will be required to support operational reporting and analytical needs as we continue to grow our national footprint. The role will work closely with the Accounting and Senior Leadership teams to help assess and drive the Company’s strategy and performance. The area of focus is financial statement review, forecasting, and budgeting, financial modeling for capital projects, and executive level presentation development. This role demands excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to recommend and implement strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide an in-depth review of financial results on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Lead the financial modeling and analysis to support the development of long-term strategic initiatives and business plans
  • Develop tools to synthesize data from the company’s ERP system into usable information.
  • Give feedback to other team members and company leaders on anything which can help improve the business.
  • Help prepare the monthly reporting package for the senior leadership team
  • Work with divisional leaders to build their annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Track business performance against operating plans and provide insights that drive updates to financial outlook.
  • Identify and quantify risks and opportunities to plan and provide recommendations.
  • Create and maintain financial models to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Develop presentations for the senior management team regarding company performance.
  • Assist in preparing business cases to support investment or financing decisions.
  • Analyze cash flow and working capital to identify areas of potential improvement.
  • Support month end management reporting processes and deliverables
  • Prepare annual budget, working with various functions
  • Develop and provide key metrics to all levels of the management team (e.g. inventory turnover, DIOH, productivity, and product costs)
  • Partner with accounting and operations to support integration and synergy reporting
  • Support special projects as needed to provide analytical and decision-making support on new initiatives.
  • Lead various ad hoc reporting and analytics projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Economics, finance, accounting, or related field is preferred
  • 4+ years of finance experience with background in financial analysis, preferably with Distribution and/or Manufacturing company
  • Operational finance experience a plus with ability to work across multiple entities and/or functions
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Data Warehouses. Experience with Business Intelligence a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong understanding of both financial and operational processes
  • Ability to provide meaningful and accurate financial information
  • Good analytical skills; ability to understand and interpret financial results
  • Ability to work across multiple entities and / or functional areas
  • Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to convert detailed financial analysis into summaries and provide comments
  • Meets deadlines, follow through on commitments and delivers on promises

  • Experience with NetSuite and Power BI a plus.
