Plant Manager

Location: Killeen, TX

Reports to: Plant Manager (Corp Office, Mesa AZ)

Overview

The Plant Manager will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations and assisting in the areas of safety and environmental, production, manufacturing, testing and analysis, quality assurance, and/or maintenance to ensure the required business objectives are met in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist and direct in facility operations for laboratory, production, maintenance, quality and safety.

  • Oversee safe and environmentally conscious operations on a daily basis for the manufacturing and distribution of quality products produced in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

  • Ensure team is fully trained in, committed to, and conduct their activities in accordance with all aspects of safety and quality systems requirements, coordinating quality and safety training.

  • Develop and control profits, plans and budget

  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, safety and quality standards.

  • Support 5S and continuously identify ways to reduce plant operating costs through the incorporation of Operational Excellence strategies.

  • Handles personnel issues including training, coaching and counseling subordinates.

  • Be a key designer and facilitator in the ongoing implementation of the plant’s continuous improvement initiatives and improving the operation.

  • Develop and implement site-based strategies and initiatives which support business objectives and strategies including asset optimization, plant staffing models and application of global best practices and standards.

  • Direct the planning layout of equipment, workflow and workforce utilization.

  • Review product quality and quality assurance processes.

  • Ensure proper implementation of policies, programs, and standards.

  • Recommend capital projects, manage project design and installations.

  • Direct, review, and ensure preventative maintenance programs.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university required or equivalent.

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in a chemical plant environment required.

  • Five (5) or more years operations/distribution/quality experience.

  • Three (3) or more years managing and developing employees required.
