Vice President of Strategic Initiatives

Overview


This position is with a private equity backed complex healthcare group located in the Phoenix market. The Vice President of Strategic Initiatives will work closely with the C-Suite on special assignments and projects that are related to the enhancement of business operations, support of strategic initiatives, or capability building. The VP of Strategic Initiatives will act as an ambassador for the CEO and provide leverage for the senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Management and execution strategic process/operational initiatives as developed in conjunction senior team (e.g., pricing, cost savings, cross-selling initiatives, new service lines, etc.)
  • Managing everyday operational issues/challenges at the direction of the CEO
  • Providing direct oversight of key projects as well as supporting CEO communications
  • Driving operational enhancements as directed by CEO. Partner with the team to drive operational improvements that contribute to a positive employee experience
  • Supporting strategic initiatives through presentations/discussions across the Company, in Board Meetings and other company-wide forums
  • Driving outcomes cross-functionally to build consensus and execute to meet deadlines and targeted results
  • Maintain and prioritize pipeline of opportunities to drive efficiency and productivity across the company
  • Works with functional leaders to assess and prioritize ideas and ensure clear timing and ownership is established for all projects pursued

Requirements

  • Solid business acumen, ideally with previous experience in healthcare focused businesses and/or private equity ownership,
  • Demonstrated experience as successful influential leader across matrix teams
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail, accuracy and accountability balanced with sound business judgment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Judgment and discretion; integrity
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to managers and executives
  • Great partner to CEO and entire management team
  • Strong presence and communication skills that will be valuable in board meetings and a sale process
  • Appropriate expertise in financial modeling and written presentations including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Extensive experience across consulting and operational roles
  • Experiences involving acquisitions, sale processes and international operations are a plus
  • Experience and ability to model and synthesize complex financial analysis, operational, and KPI data into concise presentations and decision framework
  • Demonstrated experience as successful influential leader across matrix teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
