Description
A globally recognized supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive sectors, headquartered in France, has recently been acquired by our client, a prominent global Tier 1 supplier, in a bid to broaden its market reach. This company is at the forefront of operations involving Class A surface components for heavy trucks in the USA. We are currently in search of an experienced Maintenance Technician to contribute to the launch of a new facility located near Salem, Virginia, in the Roanoke, VA area.
The Maintenance Technician participates in activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in manufacturing so that throughput, inventory, and operating expense objectives are achieved. Inspects and repairs machinery and equipment based on operating parameters, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
The following are the major duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician
- Analyzes mechanical, electrical, and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Reading and comprehension of Electrical schematics.
- Tests newly installed or refurbished equipment to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety.
- Immediately respond to maintenance issues when production has stopped due to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic problems.
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime.
- Maintain and monitor inventory of maintenance equipment and parts. Order new parts as necessary.
- Install and maintain program modifications for all machines.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for the installation and removal of equipment.
- Complete purchase order requisitions for all purchased goods, equipment, or services.
- Will be required to work necessary overtime and have shift flexibility

- 2-5 years technical experience in manufacturing, preferably in automotive interior trim and systems
- Welding
