Our client, a leading global Tier 1 supplier, has recently acquired a renowned company headquartered in France, specializing in components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive sectors. This strategic move aims to expand our client’s market presence. The acquired company is a pioneer in Class A surface components for heavy trucks in the USA. As we embark on establishing a new facility near Salem, Virginia, in the Roanoke, VA area, we are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to play a vital role in this exciting venture.

The Maintenance Technician participates in activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in manufacturing so that throughput, inventory, and operating expense objectives are achieved. Inspects and repairs machinery and equipment based on operating parameters, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.

The following are the major duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician

• Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues on designated equipment and implement corrective measures to optimize production and quality.
  • Interpret and understand electrical schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Conduct tests on newly installed or refurbished equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Promptly address maintenance issues when production halts due to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Manage and monitor inventory of maintenance equipment and parts, initiating orders for replenishment as needed.
  • Install and update program modifications for all machinery.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager for equipment installation and removal.
  • Complete purchase order requisitions for procuring goods, equipment, or services.
  • Be flexible for necessary overtime and shift adjustments.
  • Note: Additional duties may be assigned to support team objectives.

  Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5 years of technical experience in manufacturing, preferably in automotive interior trim and systems.
  • Proficiency in welding and mechanical machine repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical prints.
  • Experience in electrical motor testing and familiarity with 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic valves and fittings, hydraulic pumps, reading hydraulic prints, valves, cylinders, and seals.
  • Experience with Injection Molding Machines is preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems such as Krauss Mafai/Engle and Allen Bradley/Siemens is advantageous.

  Qualifications:

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Preferred, but not required, licenses and certifications.

This company is at the forefront of operations involving Class A surface components for heavy trucks in the USA. We are currently in search of an experienced Maintenance Technician to contribute to the launch of a new facility located near Salem, Virginia, in the Roanoke, VA area.

The Maintenance Technician participates in activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in manufacturing so that throughput, inventory, and operating expense objectives are achieved. Inspects and repairs machinery and equipment based on operating parameters, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.

The following are the major duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician

• Analyzes mechanical, electrical, and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Reading and comprehension of Electrical schematics.
• Tests newly installed or refurbished equipment to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety.
• Immediately respond to maintenance issues when production has stopped due to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime.
• Maintain and monitor inventory of maintenance equipment and parts. Order new parts as necessary.
• Install and maintain program modifications for all machines.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for the installation and removal of equipment.
• Complete purchase order requisitions for all purchased goods, equipment, or services.
• Will be required to work necessary overtime and have shift flexibility
