Our client is a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is looking for a strong and motivated Process Technician for the manufacturing operations in Thomson, GA (located just outside of Augusta, GA).

The Process Technician monitors operations process flow and quality of production parts related to Compound Injection Molding; and trouble-shoots any equipment problems. Responsible for Machine and Tooling Setup and ensure the accuracy, efficiencies, and parameters of process change.

• Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

  • Operate, manage startup, process, and shutdown procedures for compound injection molding equipment and production lines.
  • Perform tool changes on compound injection molding lines as required.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and perform maintenance tasks on compound injection molding lines to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Supervise activities in the chemical room, including monitoring and troubleshooting the Caloritronic Gravimetric blending system, ordering supplies, replacing chemical boxes, and daily equipment cleaning.
  • Address issues with vacuum pumps, filter systems, mixing equipment, and hoppers in the chemical room.
  • Operate, program, and troubleshoot three robots, including the PUR (ABB) robot and related fixtures.
  • Build and repair PUR mixing heads and A and B valves.
  • Program the PUR robot to rectify out-of-tolerance points.
  • Troubleshoot three Sonic Welders to maintain operational efficiency.
  • The approximate pay rate for this position is $26 per hour, subject to change based on experience.

  Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a process technician.
  • Proficiency in operating Sonic Welders and Krauss Mafai Software.
  • Automation skills with the ability to troubleshoot and program robots.
  • Analytical mindset to identify and address equipment issues effectively.

Duties and Requirements of the Job

• Start up, process and shut down the compound injection molding equipment and lines.
• Conduct tool changes on compound injection molding lines
• Conduct trouble shooting and maintenance task on compound injection molding lines
• Oversee the chemical room which includes but not limited to;
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting Caloritronic Gravimetric blending system
  • Ordering supplies from the off- site warehouse
  • Changing out the chemical boxes when one is empty
  • Cleaning the equipment daily in the chemical room
• Trouble shooting issues with the vacuum pumps, filter system, mixing equipment and hopper in the chemical room
• Operate, program and trouble shoot 3 robots
• Trouble shoot issues with the PUR (ABB) robot, PUR mixing station and PUR RHD and LHD fixtures
• Build and repair the PUR mixing head and A and B valve
• Operator the PUR robot to a level of programming it to touch up out of tolerance points
• Trouble shoot 3 Sonic Welders

Payrate is approximately $26/HR (Payrate may change depending on experience)
